Well hey there!
It’s day three and here’s the sitch (uation). I have a Bell internet stick that magically creates a wireless internet connection anywhere in the world!...except for the mountainous roads in Ontario’s North, apparently. So! What you’re about to read was written this afternoon at about 4:30, but unfortunately I had to wait until we reached civilization to post it.
Re-re-re-re-re-re-wind!

Good afternoon to ye!
This is Kimberly Ivany coming to you live from the back seat of the Showtruck. We are currently leaving Dryden, a town of about 1,800, where we ate lunch at a McDonald’s inside a Wal-Mart. Well, I didn’t eat McDonalds (and if Bobby Jones is reading this I’m sure he called that one). Instead, I hopped over the highway and bought a nice parfait from this quite random, no-name grocery store.
In another four hours we should be pulling into hotel number three: Greenwood Inn and Suites in Winnipeg, MANITOBA! Finally out of the province. It’s really mind-boggling just how big Ontario is.
Thunder Bay is behind us, but before we forget about it completely, I must share with you a dinnertime tale.
At our hotel last night, we decided to eat dinner at the Montana’s across the street. There was a poster in the hotel elevator advertising Monday as $4.99 wings night, so really, how could we say no.
It was about 10:00 by the time we were ready to go, but surprisingly it was STILL dusk out. I couldn’t get over it. The more we travel West, the longer it stays light outside. And since we haven’t crossed into a different time zone yet, it wasn’t until 11:00 that it finally got dark. SO CRAZEH!
Anyway, when we got into the restaurant, we were greeted by a 20 minute wait for a table. Not only did we NOT expect it to be so crazy busy, we also didn’t expect to see SO many attractive teenagers. No lie, this place was hoppin’!! Honestly, girls in dresses, guys in collared shirts, it looked like no one there was over the age of 25...except Grant, who immediately made his way over to the bar like the smoothie he is.
What followed were some drinks, laughs and plates full o’ chicken wings. Sweet.
But now, we’re back on the road. Afterall, life’s like a road that you travel on, it’s one day here and the next day gone. (Wise words, Rascal Flatts.)
I drove the Flex for the first leg of today’s stretch. Josh and I decided, (while Natalie was sleeping soundly in the back), that after two days of ten hour drives, you kind of become indifferent to all that time in a car. I no longer consciously watch the clock numbers blink by on the dashboard, and the scenery has become somewhat of a blur. Basically, there are trees. Millions and millions of trees. We’ve been seeing a lot of these signs too:
Lots of moose warnings, but no actual sightings...I personally think that the people who installed these signs are lying, cuz the only moose I’ve seen so far on this trip was a stuffed one in a shack of a rest stop in a place called Lac Des Milles earlier today. AH.
Ultimately, the views today haven’t been as spectacular as yesterday, but soon we’ll be in the Prairies where I hear you can watch your dog run away for two days.
Should be interesting!!
